Victoria’s Annual Ska Festival is the largest festival of its kind
in Canada and the longest running annual Ska Festival in North America.
Victoria’s Ska Festival generally happens
in July, bringing fans the best ska, reggae, dancehall, rock, punk, jazz,
Latin, soul, funk performances from around the world.

Luminara
Luminara is coordinated by the Inter-Cultural
Association of Greater Victoria (ICA) every summer in beautiful
Beacon Hill Park.
Cottage Pirouette is proud that our own Mika has been a colourful Luminara
volunteer and host for the past 3 years. It's a stunning evening, with
hundreds of magical lanterns and displays, costumes and music.
JazzFest International
High calibre jazz performances, workshops, in various theatres, clubs
and indoor/outdoor stage venues.
Festival of Trees
Every year in late November, the Festival of Trees transforms The Fairmont
Empress into a lush forest of beautifully decorated trees to raise
funds for the BC Children's Hospital. The Festival of Trees is open
over the winter holiday season for the public to browse through a holiday
wonderland and cast a ballot for their favourite tree.
Victoria Film Festival
Victoria and Vancouver Island's largest film and video festival.
Victoria Fibrefest
Several
days of activities for all things fibrous, with an outdoor sales finale
held in nearby Saxe Point Park.
Mid-June
Intrepid Theatre
Intrepid Theatre is the starting point for two incredible festivals in
Victoria, the first being Unofest , which is a gathering of incredible
one-person shows from around the world, generally in May. The second
is of course, the famous Fringe Festival, which is an 11 day, un-juried
international theatre festival, which begins in late August.

Victoria Day Parade
Victoria's largest parade event – marching bands, floats, clowns,
etc. Over 120,000 spectators watch this popular annual event in person
and on television. Fun for the whole family.

Victoria Cycling Festival
From Bastion Square's infamous Crash Corner to the challenge of a hill
climb, to helping kids living with cancer with the Cops for Cancer
Oak Bay Criterium, your fall cycling action is covered.
Symphony Splash
Put the Victoria Symphony on a barge and dock in the Victoria Inner Harbour,
add tens of thousands of spectators, by foot, kayak and yacht, and
what have you got? Symphony Splash. Watch for a new "young performer" highlighted
every year.
Classic Boat Festival
A celebration on our maritime heritage, as up to 100 historic vessels
gather each Labour Day weekend for this internationally recognized
festival.
Mother's Day Garden Tour
Held in May every year, this is an important fund-raiser for the Victoria
Conservatory of Music. Enjoy touring some of the best of Victoria's
private gardens!

Buccaneer Days
Held the second weekend of June in Esquimalt, this is a family-fun community
festival. Watch the pirates in action, or become a pirate and take
part. Here are a few photos of the Saturday parade, just a 5 minute
walk from Cottage Pirouette B & B. Midway rides, races and games,
community food tents, and a Friday night dance ... all a part of the
fun.
