Malls

Groups of stores or streets that have a "feel":

I'll send folks to different areas in town and give them an idea of how much they'll enjoy certain areas; I did find the site, and it looks like they'll be coordinating these sorts of groupings soon. For now, what's available is:

 

Insideout Homestore is located at the bottom of Fisgard St., on the corner of Fisgard & Store St.

The Design District
Decorative accessories to furniture, in the area of Herald, Store, Pandora, and Government Streets. Capital Iron has been an amazing marine and hardware supply store for so long that it has Heritage designation, and now includes garden and outdoor living departments as well. Some will enjoy perusing the basement collection of antiques there, while others will spend time a few doors over at Chintz and Co. and the eclectic Insideout Homestore.

 

 

 

Government Street
Government St. has changed a bit over the years, with a few more high-end chain outlets than in the "olden" days when it was all teeny-tiny shops. It's still lovely to wander down Government ... the buildings are fabulous, and the people-watching can't be beat ... please support the independently owned stores when possible. Irish Linen is one of our favourites.

Fort Street
Fort Street was known primarily for Antique Row, with several blocks of high-quality antique stores and auctioneers. A good portion of this B & B's furnishings have come from Kilshaw's Auctioneers. In recent years, other wonderful stores and restaurants have opened up to make for a great shopping experience. One of our favourites in this area is Skanda. You could sign up for a jewellery-making class here, and stay another night with us!
